The Makers

The Academy of Makers has a series of workshops which are rented out to makers and crafts people who run their own businesses here.

Makers offer work placement opportunities to students from Freeman College and often run courses open to the public - check out our What's On page.

	Contemporary silver jewellery inlaid with semi precious stones, designed and hand made in Sheffield.

	Chris J Halstead
	Bows for the string instrument family, hand crafted using traditional materials and techniques with a contemporary styling. Period reproductions undertaken.

	Victoria Kershaw	Website
	Victoria Kershaw produces functional tableware and combines silver with other materials such as concrete and rubber.

	Anne Heppell	Website
	Anne trained in a hand bindery for six years learning traditional skills and techniques in bookbinding and restoration before setting up her own workshop in Orchard square 17 years ago. Now as part of the Academy of Makers at Butcher Works Anne is able to offer bespoke Albums and Journals, working in leather, paper and silks. She also undertakes restoration and thesis binding. 	Janet creates dynamic patterns, elegantly woven into acrylic and silver jewellery combining traditional techniques and modern technologies.
